My Travel Bucket List is long! There are places all over the world I want to see, and travel is coming back!! Where to go and what to do are always on my mind. Traveling full time is my dream, I just need my family to go too! I want to see the world and experience everything I possibly can. To accomplish this, I have created my travel bucket list for this year. The world is still dealing with COVID, but I am moving forward with my dream, and when it’s time to start going I can evaluate where the COVID situation is and what I need to do from there.
The Good Ol’ USA
My lifetime goal is to visit all 50 states. I’m on my way but have a few to go. When I drove from Phoenix, Az to Jacksonville, FL I was able to check Louisiana and Mississippi off my list. There is so much to see and do in the USA, and I want to explore it all. Road trip
States I Want to See
Well still on my list is Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and finally Hawaii! Once I check those off the list I will have visited every state in the USA! Only 15 more to go!
International Travel
I’ve decided to get my passport this year. I have a passport card so I can go to Mexico and Canada, but I have dreams of overseas destinations that require a full passport.
Where I Want To Go
Italy
My number one dream destination is Italy! I’ve had this on my Travel List for a long time, It started when once upon a time, I watched “Under the Tuscan Sun” and all the beautiful scenery made me want to visit Italy. Now I always had other reasons to visit Italy, but once I saw that movie I was ruined! Between this beautiful country and the amazing food, who wouldn’t want to visit Italy?! I haven’t decided which season I’d prefer to visit during, but I may have to make multiple trips in each season to experience everything I want to do!
France
After Italy, France is next on my Travel List! Many years ago my sister was able to go to England and France. She had so much fun, I’ve wanted to go ever since! Oh to visit Paris in the spring, or summer, fall, or winter! Really I think I’d like to go in the spring. All of Paris would be in bloom and of course France is also known for amazing food.
Maldives
How can you look at the pictures of the Maldives and not want to go? The crystal clear waters, the bungalows over the water, and have you seen the sunsets? How could anyone not want to go?!
For me, the over the water bungalows are my reason to visit the Maldives. I’m sure there is so much more to see and do, but the bungalows get me there, and the rest is all about exploring!

Mode of Travel
For me, part of the fun of traveling is how I get to my destination. There are so many options to choose from these days.
Car
There is nothing better than a good road trip! Traveling by car offers so many options. You can go at your own pace and stop wherever you want. Car travel is great! I love to pack a cooler and take off. By car, you can find the off-road, and quirky attractions that you will miss by other modes of transportation.
Train
Amtrak has made a comeback in the United States. More and more people are traveling the rails. Why not? Train travel is great! Amtrack offers coach class, business class, and rooms for travel comfort. If you book a trip on Amtrak and you book a roomette, a bedroom, or a family bedroom, your meals are included in the cost of your ticket. That’s a great deal!
Amtrak has beautiful, scenic routes, and you can see the country from the comfort of your train car. Amtrak does not have a “hop on hop off” service. If you want to stay over at any of the stops you will have to purchase different tickets. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a “hop on and hop off” service? That would make traveling across the country by train even more fun!
Plane
Air travel has changed over the years in the United States. Before 9/11 flying on an airplane was an experience, and now it’s just a way to get from one place to another. If you travel internationally and first class you will have more of an experience than domestic travel and coach class.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Emirates Airlines. They have one of the most luxurious first class experiences in the aviation travel industry. I have to tell you though it is not cheap! But, as with anything, there are ways to make it more cost effective.
My favorite travel YouTubers Kara and Nate have a video about the way Nate was able to travel on Emirates for much, much less than $14,000.
Goals For This Year
Like I said at the beginning my travel bucket list is long! I want to see the world. My travel goals for this year would be:
- a cross country train trip.
- a beach trip (that’s an every year plan for me!)
- a road trip
After those three, I’m up for anything. Maybe this will even be the year I get to go on my first international trip! That would be amazing!
What does your travel bucket list look like? Leave me a comment and tell me where you’d like to go! I’d love to hear about your bucket list!
